The author discusses fact finding in the State of Michigan and contends that some Michigan fact finders lack experience; that some do not weigh all relevant factors; that some substitute their discretion and judgment for that of the public officials involved; that some make gratuitous statements which can lead to further disputes; and that some add to the last official positions of the parties.
