Report of the special committee to review membership and related policy questions of the Academy

The committee was established in 1973 and presented its recommendations to a membership meeting in April 1975. Following this membership discussion, some changes were made in the committee’s report, summarized here. The report concerns consideration and rejection of a merger of the Academy with the Society of Professionals in Dispute Resolution (SPIDR); the size of the Academy membership; standards for acceptance into membership; and the prohibition of representational work by members. The report includes a full tabulation of a 1974 membership questionnaire of these topics.
