Synopsis By: Marx - Proceeding Author: David P. Miller

The author died while in office as NAA President. This chapter is drawn from two commentaries published in The Chronicle. The first is a somewhat skeptical view of something new on the dispute resolution scene — “expedited” arbitration. A variation is suggested, involving an experienced neutral and two partisan members serving as a team traveling to various facilities to decide minor matters without written opinions. The second commentary endorses the proposed revisions in the Code of Professional Conduct, particularly as guidance to the many arbitrators new to dispute resolution.
