Synopsis By: - Proceeding Author: Gil Vernon

President Vernon addresses importance of preserving the cultural values implicit in collective bargaining: the human dignity of employees; the moral obligation of the employer to give consideration to their requests; and the economic freedom of both to say no. Given the conflation, in the media and the public’s mind, of labor, employment, and consumer arbitration, and the abuses committed by ostensibly “neutral” commercial arbitration firms, President Vernon urges Academy members to foster stringent neutrality.
